Who we are

The Centro di Lingua e Cultura Italiana IL FARO is directed by three friends and colleagues who, after teaching for many years in other language centers, decided to create this school to accomplish a dream: to offer a taste of Italian culture and language in a fresh, friendly and lively atmosphere, with faces and smiles from all over the world in one classroom.

My name is Laura, and I graduated at the University Ca’ Foscari of Venice with a degree in Modern Italian Literature and a specialization in History of Art.

My passions are foreign languages, traveling, art, literature,

but the thing that I adore the most is interaction with others. For many years I collaborated as press agent in a local press house. I worked as a guide in important art exhibitions.

I taught and still teach Italian language and culture to foreign students

.

I am Liviana, and I graduated at the University of Trieste with a degree in Political Science and International Relationships. I also attended courses at the Mib (Master School of International Business) in Trieste.

After graduating I taught juridical and economical classes in a private high school for many years. At the same time, I attended courses and workshops on teaching Italian as a second and foreign language, and I taught Italian language and culture in summer schools of Italian. Thanks to this long time experience I acquired a broad knowledge on pedagogical methodology that I am now bringing to IL FARO

Hello, my name is Barbara. I graduated in Literature at the University Ca’ Foscari in Venice, and I am now pursuing a Ph. D. in Italian Literature at Yale University in the United States. I taught in American universities (Yale, Mount Holyoke College and University of Massachusetts, Amherst), and in summer schools of Italian in Italy. I accompanied my direct experience in the field with training workshops both in the States and in Italy, and recently I attended a teaching workshop specifically designed for teachers of Italian abroad at the University for Foreigners in Perugia (Italy)
